A Red Slime Algae outbreak can turn your tank into
a deep slump; it spreads very fast and eventually
killing your corals and fish. It is actually not a
"true" algae at all. It is somewhere between
a blue-green algae and a bacteria.

for nitrification bacteria and promotes the growth
